YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- Officials say a fire that destroyed an unoccupied home west of Parker Wednesday evening appears to be suspicious.

The fire was reported around 7:15 p.m. in the 3500 block of Kays Road.

Yakima County Fire District #5 crews arrived to find the building completely on fire. They were able to control the fire, but the structure was declared a total loss.

The manufactured home had been boarded up because of a fire that destroyed most of its contents more than two weeks ago. Investigators did not rule that fire suspicious.

The Yakima County Sheriff's Office is investigating the fire. A spokesperson says deputies plan to interview a person of interest in connection with the incident.
