KENNEWICK, Wash. -- An ice cream truck driver is now back in jail on sex crime charges. He made bail but skipped his court appearance.
KEPR talked to the man's wife who says he misunderstood the paperwork.
But many are asking why he was out of jail in the first place.
Maximinio Castillo-Murcia was arrested for luring last week. He's also been charged with indecent exposure and for communication with a minor for immoral purposes.
Police said he tried to get a 13-year-old girl into his truck and was masturbating at the time.
Parents in the neighborhood near Monopoly Park are still shaken up.
"I don't even want my kids close to the ice cream man anymore," said neighbor Rhoda Tima. "I have to go buy ice cream from the store for my kids."
Castillo-Murcia was re-booked into jail and has another court appearance on Thursday. His business license was already revoked by the city of Kennewick.
As for why he was even allowed to post bail, it's important to remember he's only been charged - not convicted.
Prosecutors said he had no past criminal history.
