The city announced Rob Peterson will be in charge of day to day operations. He had been interim manager after Lee Remmel was fired.
Peterson says there will be a lot of changes to generate more business.
"At this point in time, it's working with the city to ensure that we work with their planners. One of the goals obviously with there is to increase the frequency of flights. The increase in flights will increase passenger facility charges", said Rob Peterson, the new Yakima airport manager.
The new airport manger told KIMA he's working with the city's marketing team. They are talking with vendors to bring more restaurants closer to the terminal.
