YAKIMA, Wash. -- A new monument to honor local veterans is now standing here in Yakima, and the hard work by students and teachers made it happen.
Perry Tech dedicated it in a ceremony this morning as a tribute to all six branches of the military. Teachers and students from the welding, machine, instrumentation and electrical programs put it together.
“It was touching. I almost you know threw a tear there just thinking about all the things-the sacrifices all the kids are going through at the time of war that everybody's joining. So it means a lot," said veteran and Perry Tech student Jesus Marin.
Perry Tech's Veteran's Alliance raised the money to pay for the statue.

Thank you Veterans of old wars and new.  Thank you to all the donors that helped our Veterans Alliance in this endeavor. And also @Wendy Aguilar and @Amanda Wesselius for their dedication, time, and work towards this project. Hope to see a bench in the future I can sit at, listen to the water, and just ponder quietly.
It would be nice to tell us where the monument was set....thank for it but where is it..
@yakimajack It is in front of Perry Techinical Institute on Washington Ave.
