NACHES, Wash. -- There's no more Naches Valley Chamber of Commerce. The group called it quits in May.

The former president says low turnout at meetings was partly to blame. And, the Chamber couldn't find volunteers to run the visitors center.

He says only 35 businesses belonged to the chamber, out of almost 300 between Gleed and the mountain passes.

"I just think most people were so focused on doing their business and focusing on what they had to do to survive, that I don't think they understood the synergy, and the power of people being out there and sharing information."

Randy Juette says he'll still maintain the website. And, businesses can still pay to advertise there.
