Mother of missing Ore. boy protests outside stepmom's home

ROSEBURG, Ore. - The mother of missing Oregon boy Kyron Horman tried to confront his stepmother with a weekend demonstration outside her home in Roseburg.

Desiree Young and friends wrote "Where's Kyron?" in chalk Saturday outside the home where Terri Horman lives with her mother. The mother called police and complained about trespassing and vandalism.

"They're here carrying signs about our grandson who is missing and they want to blame my daughter for him being gone," she told the 9-1-1 dispatcher. "So they show up every once in a while, usually down at the end of the street, but now they're sitting out on our front lawn."

Young said she was making a statement that her son is a priority and she's not giving up trying to find out what happened to him.

The second-grader was last seen at school in Portland in June 2010. Terri Horman is believed to be the last one to see Kyron before he disappeared, but she's never been named a suspect by police, and no one else has ever been arrested in Kyron's disappearance.
