YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima County's Courthouse has the money it needs to increase security.

It put the position for two security guards up for bid from private companies. The new guards will be stationed at the front entrance. That will let the current Sheriff's deputies provide security at other locations in the courthouse.

Two companies are being considered. They both charge about $80 thousand for the year. The new guards should start in January.
