More details on Sunnyside teacher investigation to be released
SUNNYSIDE, Wash. -- Continuing coverage on the Sunnyside teachers investigated for assigning explicit poems to students.
KIMA confirmed Maria Preston and Sacha Mike are being investigated by a firm hired by the district.
We submitted a public records requests to find out who knew about the activity and for how long. The Sunnyside School District responded today by saying it will provide the records by the end of next week.
Full details of the investigation won't be available until it's finished.

The outrageous pornography , mislabeled as poetry, presented in the Sunnyside High School classroom was most likely the topic of conversation in the hallways the minute the dismissal bell rang.  Sunnyside High School has several vice principals in charge of classroom demeanor. It is difficult to conceive that they have not established a viable network to detect such a destructive instrument in the classroom.  The signs in the classroom of this teacher, who is the ad visor for the gay-lesbian club,  should have been evidence for the need to observe her actions and "teaching" methods.  The dismissal should not end with these teachers.  The administrators in that building and those with previous knowledge of this (these) teachers' demented and contorted sense of morality  must be dismissed as well.
