New restaurant opening in old Wendy's on North First St.
YAKIMA, Wash. -- A Mexican fast food restaurant is opening in the old Wendy's building on North First Street.
El Rinconcito will open its second Yakima location in the vacant building. It already has a restaurant on Nob Hill Boulevard and 3rd Avenue.
Some neighbors say they would rather a different type of fast food.
"There's too many of those. You know, there's a couple good ones, but I think they should bring down Carl's Jr. like they did Wendy's down there in Union Gap," Alan Stewart said.
The local Carl's Junior franchise owner considered the North First location, but it didn't work out.
The building sat empty since last January when Wendy's went out-of-business.

Its sad when corp/business go the way of the buffalo in this town.. I loved Wendys !
