Man pleads guilty, accepts lesser charge for fracturing newborn's skull

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A guilty plea came Wednesday from the man who beat his girlfriend repeatedly as she held a six-day-old baby.
Zeshawn Durrani will spend three years behind bars for assault and tampering with a witness.
Prosecutors accepted a guilty plea and reduced his most serious charge from assault of a child.
At the time, the newborn was flown to Seattle with a fractured skull.
No word on the baby's condition now, but according to Yakima County court documents, doctor's say the newborn will likely have permanent brain damage from the injury.
