MABTON, Wash. -- Police arrested the man suspected of sending a threatening text message that prompted the lockdown of schools in two Lower Valley cities.
Officers said they picked up Angel Faz during a traffic stop Thursday morning in Mabton.
Schools in Grandview and Mabton went on lockdown Wedenesday afternoon after the message was sent. Administrators said it went to a Grandview Middle School student's sister.
Parents took the student home as a precaution.
Police said Faz sent the text from off campus.
Officers booked Faz into the Yakima County Jail. He faces theft and harassment charges.
