BENTON COUNTY, Wash. -- A domestic dispute led to a high-speed chase Tuesday morning in Finley.

Sheriff's deputies said the suspect, 33-year-old Shane DeWeber, was armed with a sword.

Deputies said they used a stun gun on the suspect but it had no effect on him and he got into his pickup and fled.

They tried to use spike strips to stop DeWeber, but he avoided them. Deputies said they were forced to call off the pursuit because it was too dangerous.

Deputies said they returned to the home where the chase started. The suspect eventually returned. He was seen driving down Bowles Road with his lights off at 100 mph before DeWeber hit two parked patrol cars.

After the crash, deptuies said DeWeber crawled out of the truck and charged at two officers. One of them stunned him, but it had little effect. They took him into custody after a brief struggle.

No officers were hurt.

DeWeber was taken to the hospital where he's listed in stable condition in the ICU.

He faces charges of attempted burglary, multiple counts of felony assault on and officer and felony elude of a police vehicle.

Both patrol cars were destroyed.
