MABTON, Wash. -- KIMA is taking action for you in the Lower Valley about water that looks and tastes strange out of the faucet.

It's a complaint coming from people in Mabton.

Mabton Public Works said the water might look yellowish-brown because the city is cleaning its main water tank.

It's done routinely every five to seven years. The city says despite the color, the water is safe.

Mabton Public Works said the coloration comes from sediments in the tank.

You can let the water run for five to ten minutes until the water clears.
