MLK parade in downtown Yakima
YAKIMA, Wash. -- There was a little pomp and circumstance in downtown Yakima on Monday. Celebrating Martin Luther King Day with a march. It started at noon at MLK Way and everyone made their way to the Yakima Convention Center. Families made banners. A couple of hundred people took part. Rev. Juliet Hemphill was the parade's Grand Marshall.

"Ordinary people walking and marching for a cause bigger than themselves, but yet at the same time all about themselves, so that's why I'm here," said Spencer May.

A special program featuring a diverse group of speakers greeted everyone at the Convention Center. A free lunch was also provided at the Southeast Community Center.
