Low water pressure forces Mabton to order new pump

MABTON, Wash. -- The city of Mabton got the go-ahead to order a replacement pump for one of its broken wells after water pressure problems.

Testing of a temporary pump this week was successful. Mabton will now order a permanent fix.

Mabton officials have lowered pressure to keep water from being wasted.

The city says it doesn't know how much the replacement will cost or when it will arrive.
