YAKIMA, Wash. -- A Yakima woman is honoring her father by fulfilling a promise to help others. She's collecting stuffed animals to donate to children in local hospitals.

Brittney Fleck says her dad and her came up with the idea last year. She says her dad always loved children. He died in January from cancer.

Brittney has collected more than 100 stuffed animals in just the last few weeks. She is also knitting baby hats.

She says she's doing it to comfort sick children, but also for her dad.

“By continuing to do the stuff that me and him had planned on doing together, I know that it would, you know, make him proud," said Brittney.

She will continue to take donations until July 14th.  If you would like to donate, click here.
