YAKIMA, Wash. -- A Yakima medical student's documentary is getting national attention. The film is about a group's attempt to climb the world's second highest peak, K2.

David Ohlson went on the expedition in 2009. His group did not make it to the peak, but David did climb more than 23,000 feet. His expedition happened 100 years after a famous 1909 Italian expedition.

David was in Pakistan for three months working on the film.

"It's a really amazing environment. It's really hard to put into words, and it's really hard to capture photographically," he said.

It took David a total of six years to complete his documentary. "K2: Siren of the Himalayas" will air at The Seasons Performance Hall on March 26th.
