Kittitas Valley Fire to hold public meetings on fire station bond

ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- Kittitas County Fire District #2, also known as Kittitas Valley Fire and Rescue, will hold five public meetings over the next two weeks to answer questions about a proposed bond.

The district is asking voters to approve a bond next month to pay for a new fire station.

The bond would cost about 20 cents per $1,000 of assessed value. For the owner of a $200,000 home, that would come to $3.34 per month or $40.08 per year.

The meetings will be held at the district's current fire station in Ellensburg. They will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Mar. 29 and Mar. 30, 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Mar. 31, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Apr. 5 and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Apr. 10.
