KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash. -- A state of emergency was declared in Kittitas County Monday night. It was done to: provide human services effective to the fire, establish reporting system for those with loss to the fire, physically inspect the remote areas to assist anyone who has been cut off from the fire (stranded), support the fire investigation and support the domestic animal and livestock rescue services.
Overnight the fire grew to 27,000 acres. It jumped across Reecer Creek; 1/2 way to Smithson Road and Pheasant Lane.
Recent evacuations have included Pheasant Lane, Faust Rd. & Highway 97, and Sunlight Waters.

@BigDave If you've ever lived there, you'd know right away what the map covers. See my other comment to Apple Annie. CleElum is on the far left of the map. The strong black line is 1-90 to Ellensburg. Right in the center of the red area is the road N. to the Teanaway Valley
I WISH I KNEW WHERE EXACTLY TAYLOR BRIDGE IS IN RELATION TO CLE ELUM, ELLENSBURG, ETC.
@Apple Annie Apple Annie- It looks to me as if the fire is about 5 miles East of downtown CleElum, just north of 1-90, and extending down the I-90 corridor towards Ellensburg, approx. 20 miles. The fire extends N to the cutoff towards the Teanaway River valley. The red area is at the top of the fire map. I don't know what direction it is moving, but I imagine they have the road from the Teanaway blocked. I used to own a house on the Middle Fork, which appears to be OK at this point, depending on the direction of the winds.
How close to the HWY 10 and HWY 97 intersection has the fire gotten?
