Kittitas County deputies rescue family of six from Cle Elum River

Sheriff's Rescue Boat deployed for a family trapped on a log jam.

Responding to a call from members of the group who were swept down-river, the Sheriff's Swift-Water Rescue Team launched one of the Jet Boats about 1 hour before sundown to search for the family, said to be 2 adults and 4 small children. The family was located in the middle of one of the worst log jams in the county. Per rescue personnel, "it is a blessing no one was injured". All of the victims, their rafts visible in the photograph, were pulled onto the boat and re-united with their friends.
