CRIME TRACKER: 'I always lock the door'
UNION GAP -- The KIMA Crime Tracker is following up on stolen cars near the Valley Mall in Union Gap.
It's an issue we've tracked for you. In the last three months, there were four cars stolen near the mall between Valley Mall Boulevard and Washington Avenue.
Three were taken from the parking lots of Sears, Macy's and Kohl's.
People we spoke to aren't surprised, but say they're being extra cautious.
"Normally I hide it in the trunk, or if it's small enough, I'll put it in my pocket and I'll just take it inside," says Jordan Rew. "I always lock the door."
While the number of thefts is slightly lower than prior years, investigators say it is good advice to keep your doors locked.
In 2009, there were 18 stolen cars from the same area.
