SELAH, Wash. -- A car wash was held Sunday for a Yakima man involved in an accident at the Yakima Speedway. Christopher Morrison was filling a tire when it exploded and hit him in the head.

Family and friends filled the Selah Save-On-Foods parking lot for the fundraiser. Christopher has severe head trauma, a broken leg and broken fingers.

Family members say he's making good progress, but he still isn't able to speak. Christopher's uncle says it was amazing to see so much support.

"It goes to show you that a lot of people do care out there," said Morgan Morrison.

A family member says Christopher still needs more surgery.
