Fundraiser held for family's son who died in Lower Valley motorcycle accident

Fundraiser held for family's son who died in Lower Valley motorcycle accident
YAKIMA, Wash. -- A fundraiser was held for a family of a 17-year-old who died in a motorcycle accident in the Lower Valley. Omar Delgado would've been a senior at Eisenhower High School this fall.

Omar was driving the motorcycle with Yari Lopez as his passenger. Yari also died.

Troopers say the motorcycle hit a pickup at the Jones Road Intersection outside of Wapato.

Omar's family members say it's been hard to cope.

"They've been hurtin' quite a bit and they just need support,” said Omar’s cousin Efren Lucatero. “Support from the community, support from their family and friends so that's why we're helping them out."

Friends says Omar dreamed of being a Marine like his dad.

Investigators don't know if drugs or alcohol were involved in any way.
