Former PE teacher fights to get suspension lifted
YAKIMA, Wash. -- A former East Valley High School teacher testified on her own behalf today. Michele Taylor is trying to get her teaching certificate back.
The state suspended her credentials for a year for inappropriate contact with students.
A jury acquitted her of any criminal wrongdoing.
Taylor admitted she didn't follow several policies, including the school's medicine policy for students.
Taylor also admitted sending an e-mail to staff members after the district told her not to.
The hearing is expected to wrap up sometime next week.
