E. Coli cases up this year in Yakima County

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- A spike in a dangerous bacteria has come up in Yakima County. The number of E. Coli cases reported this year equals the last two years combined. It's a total of 17 cases so far.

"It's shocking, really shocking and you just have to make sure your hands are real, real clean and just keep your hands real, real clean," said Jamie Briggs who lives in Yakima.

Yakima public health officials are interviewing people who have been infected to see if there is a specific location of cause.

So far, no other information is being provided. No school districts in Yakima County were told to be concerned of an outbreak.
