PEND OREILLE COUNTY SHERIFF'S RELEASE -- On November 15, 2013, at approximately 4:09 p.m., the Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report, of a gunshot victim in the 1800 block of Deer Valley Road. Sheriff’s Deputies were directed to a deceased 16 year old male located approximately ¼ mile down a logging road and approximately 200 yards into the woods from said road. The boy has been identified as Sergio M Tinajero, age 16, of Yakima, Washington.

Tinajero was hunting in the area with other family members when the incident occurred; it appears that Tinajero died from a single gunshot wound. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing and the Sheriff’s Office, is being assisted by Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife, Washington State Patrol Investigators, US Forest Service Law Enforcement and the US Border Patrol.

The Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office is also seeking information from any members of the public who may have been hunting in the area anytime Friday, November 15, 2013, you are asked to please contact the Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office at 509-447-3151.
