Cowiche 911 service repaired after line damage

YAKIMA, Wash. -- SunComm, the 911 call center for Cowiche, reported Saturday morning that all phone line repairs are complete, and landlines have been restored to full service.

On Friday afternoon, SunComm reported a major fiber line to the area was damaged. They said residents with landline phones might not be able to get through to emergency services until repairs were completed. Cell phones were still able to reach 911.

SunComm told Cowiche residents to contact their local fire station if they needed emergency services and could not get through to 911.

The cause of the line damage has not been released.
