Commissioners sign off on contract with deputies

YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- County commissioners signed off on a new labor agreement with the Yakima County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies have been working without a contract for four years. This will provide a six-and-a-half percent pay raise for deputies the next three years.

Deputies have not reviewed or signed off on the contract yet. They say it's too early to tell what other benefits would come from the deal.
