Clerk candidate Matheny investigated over claims of accessing opponents' records
YAKIMA, Wash. -- An investigation is widening to look into more claims against a woman running for county office.

Sarah Matheny works as a clerk for the municipal court. She's also running for Yakima County clerk.

She was disciplined for using her position to access the driving record of opponent Steve Driscoll. Now, the state is investigating as well. Those results could be ready this week.

Matheny isn't commenting. She's currently in second place in the August primary for the clerk position.

Results will be certified Tuesday. If they don't change, Matheny and Janelle Riddle will face off in the general election. Kathleen Carter is close behind. Driscoll came in fourth.
