City Council looks to approve lawsuit settlement
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Next week, the Yakima City Council will decide whether to settle a lawsuit by a former Yakima police officer. Officer Elaine Gonzales sued Yakima for four-million-dollars back in April 2009. She claims Yakima was negligent in hiring former Police Chief Sam Granato.
The city's insurance company proposed a 180-thousand dollar settlement. That would be covered by insurance, however, Yakima's deductible is 100-thousand dollars.

for some reason the county and the city of yakima will go to Texas to hire people even with then having bad bagage the county hire the guy from texas to help build a jail thats was a waste and the city hired a cop form texas that had so much bad review that he was emboiled in controversy, that he could not do a good job for yakima and he was a union buster, from a state that has a right to work law....and thats what he wanted to put in place here so he could hire who he wanted,,,,total controler...so yakima should bite the bullet and pay the money and maybe the city council that is all GOP will take the heat for this come election day for them..change isneed in are type of goverment in yakima and this will stop this crap..the GOP has had control to long....Â
