YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. -- Yakima County's murder rate is already higher than last year.

The KIMA Crime Tracker found most of those are connected to domestic violence.

This year there have been 16 cases. That compares to 14 cases in all of last year.

The last murder happened two weeks ago when police say a recovering addict overdosed on drugs.

However, this year's murder rate is lower than 2011.
