British man running across America stops in Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A British man running across America made a pit stop Friday in Yakima.

Kevin sharp started his journey across the country about a week ago. He's only taking what he can fit in this baby stroller.

Kevin started along the Washington coast.

He says he's happy his wife let him make the trip.   

"I asked my wife a couple of years ago if I could run across America and she said yes," Kevin Sharp said. "Obviously never expecting that I would put the training in and buy all the equipment for it. Low and behold, seven days ago I stood on Westport Beach ready to go."

Kevin hopes to make it to Virginia Beach in about three months.

He's paying for the trip on his own. Kevin also trying to raise money along the way for the National Autistic Society and The Royal British Legion.
