Bridge work to close SR 241 near Mabton
YAKIMA, Wash. -- Repair work on two bridges will close State Route 241 near Mabton for ten days starting Tuesday.

Washington State Department of Transportation crews will repair and waterproof the bridge decks, chip seal the roadway and modify the expansion joints.

Through traffic between Mabton and Sunnyside will be detoured to State Route 223 through Granger. The detour will add about 20 miles to the trip.

The highway is expected to reopen on May 23.
