UNION GAP, Wash. -- Borton Fruit wants to be annexed into the city of Union Gap. A Union Gap official says the company wants to develop new property in the city's urban growth area.

The proposed annexation area is on Ahtanum Road between 16th and 32nd Avenues. Union Gap's Public Works says the new property would need utilities. Yakima County doesn't have water and sewer in that area.

City council is expected to make a decision at their meeting Monday.
