Bail set at $1 million for Harrah man accused of attacking his uncle

YAKIMA, Wash. -- A judge set bail at $1 million for David Fernandez early Monday afternoon in Yakima County Superior Court. Fernandez, 18, is suspected of attacking his uncle last week at a home in Harrah.

He's charged with first degree assault. Prosecutors discussed the possibility of increasing it to attempted murder.

Deputies said Fernandez shot his uncle six times in the back and once in the head.

No one called police for two hours, according to the probable cause statement.

Roberto Ocampo-Ursino remains unresponsive in a Yakima hospital.

Deputies said Fernandez was having a sexual relationship with his uncle and got violent when the uncle wanted to end it.
