YAKIMA, Wash. -- An autopsy confirms a man committed suicide after an officer-involved shooting here in Yakima this week.
The county coroner said Joseph Ricard died from a self-inflicted gunshot. Ricard exchanged gunfire with police at his home in Yakima Wednesday morning.
The coroner also said the 55-year-old slit his wrist, but did not hit an artery.
DNA tests are being done to confirm if blood found in a Packwood hotel is Ricard's as well.
