Another candidate announces run for State House
Gina McCabe, a Republican from Goldendale, will announce her candidacy for the Washington House of Representatives at Franklin Park in Yakima Thursday. McCabe joins Ben Shoval and Adam Yoest in the race to replace outgoing Rep. Charles Ross.
GINA MCCABE NEWS RELEASE -- Gina McCabe, Republican, of Goldendale, will announce her candidacy for State Representative for District 14, Position 2, a seat previously held by Charles Ross of Yakima, this Thursday.

A genuinely “Washington-grown” candidate, McCabe was born, educated and raised her own 4th generation family in Klickitat County. She attended Clark College in Vancouver, WA, and completed her Political Science degree at the University of Washington, followed by two years at Concord University School of Law. For the last 20 years she has been the CEO, General Manager and a Certified Hotel Administrator for the Gold Award Quality Inn & Suites Hotel. She has been the owner-operator of several small businesses, including a fitness club and a dance studio for community children, and a high school varsity coach. She also serves on the national Choice Hotels Owners’ Council Board, as well as Choice Hotels International Regional Advisory Board.

As the mother of four grown children and grandmother to three, Gina fulfilled her civic passion by being deeply involved in political and community service activities, but now that her family priority is completed, she is ready to commit to putting the “represent” back into being a State Representative. She feels that now is the right time to put her education, work experience, political and business leadership to work for the people she knows so well in south central Washington.

“I know that the voters in this legislative district are interested in what makes a candidate tick, and how he or she may feel about certain issues, and that’s good”, says McCabe. “ But I believe that the most important thing is to be a good listener and to ask the right questions in order to fully understand what your constituents want. It’s not my agenda- it’s theirs that I want to go to Olympia to fight for.”
