YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima's Parks and Recreation Department has a secret admirer with a big heart and a big wallet.
An anonymous donor gave the department $50 grand.
The money was donated in September with specific instructions for spending it. It has to go toward renovating Randall Park.
“That's actually just amazing and awesome for someone to do that you know. I remember coming back here as a kid to go feed the ducks and everything. There's still a lot of fence line that's really outdated. It would be nice to have a better basketball court,” said park goer Sean Rogers.
The parks department is using the donation to apply for a matching grant with hopes of raising $15,000. It would pay for new walking paths, bathrooms, picnic shelters and possibly a new playground.
