YAKIMA, Wash. -- A Yakima man is carrying the torch for "Operation TINCUP." It was one of several projects Dale Carpenter was known for.
The fundraiser began seven years ago. After Carpenter's death last week, David McKinney decided to carry on the tradition of staying overnight outside Wray's Marketfresh to raise money for those in need.
"We're really looking forward to have people come out here to gather and share their stories of Dale's life," said David McKinnery.
David also renamed the fundraiser "Dale's Operation TINCUP." It stands for "those in need, can you pitch in?"
Donations benefit the Yakima Union Gospel Mission and the Salvation Army.
