Recall Repairs Hit Local Toyota Dealership

YAKIMA -- In the midst of a giant recall, it's crunch time for Yakima's only Toyota dealership.

At Bud Clary Toyota, the service department just became the dealership's primary focus.

Tom Leite is one of the many mechanics tasked with repairing faulty accelerators, while also fixing Toyota's reputation. His job is cramped and tedious, but not complicated.

"It really doesn't take too long. It's a pretty quick fix," he says.

In the past day, Leite has already fixed more than 20 recalled cars, but with potentially hundreds of vehicles left, his job is just getting started.

In fact, service techs at Bud Clary are now scheduling appointments through midnight.
