GRANDVIEW -- A family friend is blamed for the stabbing death of a Grandview teenager. The murdered girl's mother spoke exclusively with Action News about the daughter she's lost and the young man accused of her death.

"I think I was more in shock and praying that it wasn't real," says Jolene Stoneking, victim's mom.

Jolene Stoneking tells me she discovered her daughter's body. Autopsy reports say the cause of death was suffocation multiple stab wounds and massive head injury. Prosecutors say a 17-year-old boy has been arrested because of his age we can't disclose his name but Chelsie's mom says the suspect was a close family friend.

"It would be like somebody in your family doing something to somebody they claimed that they loved," says Stoneking.

The teen boy was so close to the family he even helped feed and take care of Chelsie's 8 month old son Quincy. Prosecutors say the teen and could face charges as an adult. Right now he's being held on $1 million bail while his case is reviewed.

"I don't know where to go from here," says Stoneking.

It's been a tough couple of days for Jolene. She's lost her daughter but does find a little comfort knowing police already have a suspect.
