Hop On Board

YAKIMA -- Bare and wet roads over Snoqualmie pass recently. But the mild winter weather isn't drying up business for the Airporter Shuttle from Sea-Tac to Yakima.

It might be a lazy Sunday for you but for Airporter Shuttle it's another work day.

Once the bags are loaded and everyone is seated it's green lights ahead for the drive from Yakima to the west side.

"I'm a horrible driver in the snow and in the winter you can't tell whether it's going to snow in the mountains," says Roseanne King, using shuttle.

Winter weather is a big reason to let someone else do the driving but our mild winter really isn't giving drivers anything to worry about. So shuttle users are hoping on board for other reasons.

"No stops between the mall in North Bend or Sea-Tac or Amtrak so we took a gamble and added that in," says Warren Gay, Airporter Shuttle.

That gamble has turned into a gold mind, business is up 25% from last fall. New runs always mean an increase in business, but shuttle officials say a jump this big is unusual.

"Originally I was going to stop at the factory outlets and do some shopping and get on the next shuttle but decided to just go home," says Ana Moya, using shuttle.

The new run gives the shuttle 30,000 extra commuter seats and a chance to get new customers.

"I came to visit my friend and they can't drive me back so I'm taking it back home," says Alisa Shamek, using shuttle.

The drive is just getting started for this group. But the Airporter Shuttle hopes convenience will keep you coming back.
