Yakima --- An crash sent two to the hospital Thursday night, including a Yakima cop. It happened just south of Washington on 10th Avenue.

"They were between the house and tree, ran into the car and lunged up on it's side and that's where it came to a rest. And it was at that time the officer was unconscious for a period of time," Lt. Mike Merryman told Action News.

It all started when officers pulled a truck over while they were trying to find a wanted felon. Police say the felon was in the passenger seat, when the driver got out of his seat against orders so the felon could jump behind the wheel. An officer jumped in the car to try to stop the guy from getting away but he speed away anyway. The officer was able to shut the door before the truck crushed a fence, flew into a yard, and finally into a car.

Bianca Rilla was across the street and saw it happen.

"They ran through our backyard. We were having dinner when we saw their heads pass by and we quick ran to lock our doors. It was pretty scary."

The two guys took off in opposite directions but couldn't outrun the extra police on their tail.

They are both in custody and could face first degree assault. The officer and felon both were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening wounds.
