6-year-old hit by car near bus stop
YAKIMA -- An unidentified 6-year-old boy was hit by a car around 7:40 am. Police say he was walking with family and became startled by a dog and ran into the road. He did not suffer a serious injury.

Alonso Marques was taking his daughter to school when he noticed the crowd gathered around the boy. He says he called 911and saw a police car drive by without stopping.

"The police officer came by probably at 90 miles-per-hour and didn't stop," Marques said. "There was a lot of people everywhere and he didn't stop, and we wondered why and were trying to call 911 and no one answered."

KIMA spoke to police and operators at the emergency call center. They say an officer was on the scene within four minutes. They added it is possible an officer drove by at a high rate of speed on the way to another emergency.
