Police: 6 people behind bars after kidnapping, AMBER alert

YAKIMA, Wash. --- Six people are in jail connected to a violent robbery and Amber Alert here in Yakima.

Yakima police arrested two women for beating and robbing a teenager on Saturday morning. They picked up 17-year-old Adrian Gatlin Monday night in Ellensburg.

Gatlin was wanted for pulling a gun during the robbery.

Police wound up issuing the Amber Alert when he disappeared with his two kids while considered armed and dangerous. They found him hiding in his sister's house and arrested her, too.

"That is something that you couldn't even imagine you just couldnt believe that something like that would happen knowing that we had communication with her, with the victim," said Sgt. David Cortez, gang unit supervisor.

Police said all of the suspects have gang ties.

Gatlin and his friend, Guillermo Gomez, both appeared in court today and are being held on $500,000 bail.
