East Valley -- The food in the Toppenish School District is top notch!

They just got a Gold award from the USDA for their healthy food options. But Toppenish isn't the only area putting less fried and low sugar products on the table. East Valley is expanding their "farm to cafeteria" program, that brings local fruits and vegetables into the schools.

"It's good for not only our students but it's also good for our economy and we're gonna continue with trying to develop more choices especially," says Darlene LaBella, East Valley High School.

LaBella says they started their healthy options program two years ago. They no longer sell soda, it's only available in the vending machines after school is out.
