"Cle Elum Seven" Chimps Have Snow Day
By Steve Wellman
Last summer we introduced you to a group of former laboratory chimpanzees now living at a new preserve near Cle Elum. The chimps, known as the “Cle Elum Seven” were getting their first chance to be outside in a new enclosure built for them
The first winter storms have now brought another new experience for the chimps: touching and tasting snow! Over the last couple days, for the first time in their lives, they were playing in the white stuff. Most of the chimps seemed to think the snow was best for eating, but they all seemed to like the new experience. |
