Keeping it Safe This Thanksgiving Weekend
By Audrey Asistio
YAKIMA COUNTY -- Winter driving conditions plus drunk drivers make it a dangerous weekend to be on the road. That is why Washington State Patrol is already keeping a lookout for trouble makers. They are targeting people driving under the influence, speeders and those not wearing seat belts. They say it's not to ruin your holiday, but to keep your weekend safe.
Sgt. Ed McAvoy tells Action News, “This is a time for friends and family to be gathering and nobody wants to lose a loved one over the holidays.” State patrol gave out more than two dozen tickets for drunk driving in Yakima County during last year's Thanksgiving weekend. |
