SEATTLE (AP) - The man in charge of elections in Washington state has won another of his own.

Republican Secretary of State Sam Reed easily turned back a challenge from Democrat Jason Osgood to win a third term, 59 percent to 41 percent, according to early returns Tuesday.

Reed has overseen significant election reform in the state as it moved from the blanket primary to the "top two."

Reed says he wants to bring more transparency to state government, deliver more useful election information to voters, and provide better access to the state's history and heritage.
