Uniting For Peace
By Sade Malloy
Lower Valley -- Two communities known for their gang activity are hitting the streets and uniting for peace.
Pablo Casillas is just one Lower Valley high school student you'll see at a march against gang violence. Barios Unidos, Grandview United and Pablo are all working together to stop the violence. Pablo passed out flyers at Mabton High School Thursday. Pablo Casillas, March Against Gang Violence says, "I tell them you should come by you gotta step up for what you believe in to make a difference and be a leader 'cause that's what life is all about, being a leader." The march is Saturday at noon. If you're interested in joining you can meet people in Grandview at 11:30 am at the County Fairgrounds or at the same time at Sunnyside High School. |
